There's nothing hypocritical about that statement. If I threatened to ruin the first mission for him we'd both end up in because I would find that appropriate 'punishment' for his griefing, THEN I'd be hypocritical. See? Using big words isn't so hard.

Nothing wrong with vengence... as long as it's just.

While I agree with this statement, I must pose a question: Who decides if it is just?

And some follow-up questions: Are they the right person to make that call? Would a third party (an impartial third party) be better for making said decision?

The tricky thing with vengeance is it's usually the person wronged who makes the decision, and their view of what actually happened may be skewed somewhat.

But doing something like that, nah uh. There is a first time for everyone, I don't skip cutscenes if it is my first time through the mission - and I don't care if others don't like that.

I don't skip cutscenes the second time through the game...or even the third. The cutscenes are amazing and I'd hate to miss out on the beauty of the art put into these cinematics just because I(or someone else) was too rushed to bother....All the time people say "skip the cutscenes" and I say "no".....getting upset because someone wants to see a portion of the game...that's rediculous. I agree with you Teklord....it's not my place to tell someone how they can play the game...and what they can or can't see.

Eh, sometimes its ok to skip, and sometimes its ok to watch. I skip everynow and then and watch every now and then. I get irritated when I ask people to skip because I have to go and they don't however.

but what about people playing the first time through?? they should skip the cutscene(the plotline) just because you have to go?

Yes, its okay to watch them even if you've watched them a thousand times. I can't even tell you how many times I've watched Star Wars!

And...

Yes, it's okay to want to skip. And if everyone else agrees with you then great! If not though, you are more than welcome to get irritated. However this doesn't provide sufficient cause to do what the above poster claims he did - light 2 out of the 3 mission ending points, and then run away to go make lunch.

I think that asking for people to skip the cutscene is stupid. If they want to see it let them see it. If I want to see the cutscene I wont be stopped by some punk telling me to skip it.

Anyway to get back on topic . I think that though his revenge might not have been just (quoting Ghandi: An eye for an eye makes the entire world blind) it must have been sweet. Adding to this he regret his actions and thats good enough for me .

I think you mean "vengeance" -- and vengeance is never "just". Self defence is just, removing someone from a situation so that they cannot harm others is just; however, actively seeking to hurt others is never just. By "getting even" with one person, he has wronged two others; and has filled the well with poison. His account should be banned.

Pfft... The two people had just as much a chance to speak up for him, or stop playing. They are guilty by there inaction. They let the leader get away with breaking the agreement.

His account should be banned??? LoL!! They can't even solve the true problems like botting and of course there are probably literally hundreds of scammers scamming people on a daily basis. Yet they should ban him for getting even after being wronged?

Like that'll fly.

And yes, like I alluded to in a previous post of mine I would quite actively set out to find some way to get back at those that have wronged me if in that exact situation where the plan was "Mission AND Bonus" right from the first minute. It's just like I believe if someone were to threaten to take away my God given right to live in this world, then at the same time they forfeit their own.

Just leave the group instead. As you say the mission is easy on 3. Actually it's easy on 1.

He has wronged two others who were either passive agressive, or simply lazy and didn't act. Of course they knew he was being wronged, but didn't give a shit as it "didn't affect them". I personally don't think he should have, but whatever.

Hasty, hasty. This was no elaborate scheme for vengeance; just a simple act of retribution. DrSlugfly has been posting on this site for awhile, and he seems like a fine person. He doesn't whine, doesn't insult, and doesn't flame (to my knowledge ). Let's say what he did WAS wrong. Who the hell are you to judge? And why should such drastic action be taken?
